Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)

Hourly Rate: £27-£33 per hour

Center Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist. This role focuses on supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in mainstream school settings. As a specialist, you will play a crucial role in enabling children to develop essential communication skills and access their curriculum fully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy services to children with SLCN in mainstream schools.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and school staff to develop and implement effective communication strategies and therapy plans.
  • Assess and treat children referred to the service, tailoring interventions to individual needs.
  • Offer expert advice on managing and caring for children with communication difficulties.
  • Accountable for professional actions and maintaining high standards of practice, including compliance with ethical and legal requirements.
  • Provide supervision, support, and training to less experienced colleagues and students.
  • Organize and deliver in-service training to school staff and other stakeholders to enhance understanding and support for children with SLCN.
  • Collaborate with various professionals across multiple agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to child care.

Requirements:

  • Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
  • Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT
  • Experience of supporting CYP, families and schools in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 including contribution to statutory assessments (Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessments), contribution to the annual review process and delivery of SLT provision as specified in Education health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Collaborative work with parents and other professionals
  • Experience Training others
